Frequently Asked Questions
What is Chrysalis?
Chrysalis is a three day, two night Christian retreat designed for teens and young adults. It has fourteen faith talks over the course of three days. Each talk is given by either a youth, an adult, or a clergy person. If you would like a more in-depth answer, please don't hesitate to contact us or your sponsor. We are more than happy to discuss any further questions.
How much does Chrysalis cost?
Chrysalis costs $150 in total. This helps to cover the cost of your room, food, and supplies. When you register for camp you need to pay a $100 deposit fee to secure your spot. We only have a limited amount of space for the men's and women's flight so make sure to get your application and deposit in as soon as possible. Deposits are non-refundable, although if something comes up and you can not attend, let us know and we can apply your deposit to another flight. The last $50 is due at registration or before the flight begins.
What do I need to pack?
Who can attend Chrysalis?
Chrysalis is designed for teens and young adults. At Living Water Chrysalis we take anyone ages 15 - 20. Exceptions can be made, but are a case by case basis. If you are looking for something as a young adult or adult we suggest going to Emmaus. Emmaus is very similar to Chrysalis, but is aimed at adults ages 18 - infinity. Please follow the link to reach Bread of Life Emmaus which is also Kansas based.
I've already attended Chrysalis, can I go again?
Yes and no. You've been through Chrysalis once and had a great time and now you want to do it again. Unfortunately you can't, but you can come and be a servant leader! Our servant leaders have their own camp curriculum, their own activities, and help to make Chrysalis possible. As a servant leader you will help make meals, help with agape, be a part of the prayer room, as well as having worship time and activities. When you apply for the servant team you can also check boxes for other areas of service, such as the music team.
If you are 18 or older you could also attend Walk to Emmaus. Walk to Emmaus is a lot like a Chrysalis flight, but also very different. We encourage you to attend one as an adult at some point if you have the opportunity. Check the link above to seen when the next walk is.
How can I help?
There are lots of ways you can help out on the flight. If you want another fun Chrysalis experience, then sign up to be one of our servant leaders. We couldn't function without our servant leaders.

If you can't go to the whole flight, that is just fine. You could come for send off, meal times, candlelight, or closing. Your presence for those is always appreciated. You could also donate snack food, drinks, or agape gifts.

If you can't go at all and still want to help out you could sign up to be a part of the 72-hour prayer vigil. The prayer vigil lets us bathe the whole flight in constant prayer. You could also donate money to Living Water directly. Your donations will go toward feeding everyone, providing supplies, and helping with agape. You can also check out our Amazon or Oriental Trading wish lists. These items can be purchased by you and sent directly to us. We would greatly appreciate donations in any form.

Another way you can help out is by sponsoring a caterpillar. All of our caterpillars need a sponsor. These are the people who help there caterpillar get to and from Chrysalis, who gather letters, and are a part of our prayer vigil. If you are a youth wanting to sponsor someone you will need to have an adult co-sponsor signed onto your sponsor form. We also suggest a co-sponsor for anyone who is sponsoring someone for the first time.
What denomination do I need to be to attend Chrysalis?
Living Water Chrysalis is a non-denominational organization. We accept any Christians who believes in the tenets set forth by the Nicene Creed.

We believe in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. We confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and we look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
